A Further Exciting Update - An e-mail received from Nathan confirming his concert date

On Windover Hill

Hi! I just thought you'd like an update on my project regarding the Long Man of Wilmington, and the use of Maria's song. I've now been backed by Arts Council England, and as a result will be giving the premiere of 'On Windover Hill', a 9-movement long cantata for orchestra and choir, at Boxgrove Priory (Chichester) on March 7th 2020 at 7.45pm. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will perform it along with Harlequin Chamber Choir, conducted by Dr Amy Bebbington. Tickets will be on sale soon (available through my website) and the BBC will be running a second interview with me in September. I've been overwhelmed with interest from artists, musicians, poets, and authors, and as a result, the concert will be a true celebration of Sussex, with additional music by neglected local female composers, Ruth Gipps, and Avril Coleridge-Taylor, along with displays of work by local artists. Maria's song 'The Long Man' will feature within one of the movements of my piece, and I am very grateful for permission to do this. She will be well credited. Best wishes, Nathan

Update February 2019

We were contacted by composer Nathan James

hhtp://www.castleymusic.com/onwindoverhill

to ask for permission to use Maria's song 'The Long Man' as part of his most recent project.

He is in the process of writing "ON WINDOVER HILL" - A New Sussex Cantata about the Long Man.  He intends to include orchestra and choirs and wondered if he could use Maria's song within it.  He requires funding to help him proceed but he had already arranged to be interviewed by BBC Surrey/Sussex and is very active on all the other social media sites.

We look forward to hearing how he gets on with the piece - and maybe we will get to hear/see a concert sometime?  It would be lovely and a wonderful tribute to Maria.
